– Student Program FAQs
Step 3: Teachers or students access lessons and complete assignments
– If the district uses Clever or ClassLink, teachers and students will click on the orange Compass Curriculum icon on their dashboard to access and launch assignments.

– If the district uses a manual login or .csv upload, a roster with login credentials was shared with the District/School Champion during onboarding. All staff and students will sign in through the district’s portal. If you do not know your Compass portal, please review the documents provided after Admin Training.
– Teachers will prepare for lesson delivery by viewing the Teacher Companion Guide and previewing the digital lesson.
– How to Access the Teacher Companion Guide and Lesson Resources
– During blended and digital delivery, the lesson will automatically be marked as complete when the student completes a lesson and passes the post-quiz. The blended delivery model is recommended for grades 3-12.
– Monitor Assignment Completion for Teachers
– During whole group delivery, the lesson will not mark as complete. Instructors or admin will need to mark the lesson complete. Whole group instruction is recommended for grades K-2 and sometimes grade 3.
– How to Mark Lessons Complete - Manually
Step 4: Support student and staff engagement using the Admin Toolkits during morning announcements and in school newsletters each week.
– Promote a positive school culture and build stronger connections with lesson content by utilizing the Admin Toolkits. Each toolkit contains daily announcements corresponding with the weekly lesson, family newsletter templates, and an activity page. Admin Toolkits are designed to foster stronger connections with the SEL curriculum and promote positive school culture.
– Admin Toolkits can be accessed by clicking “Start Lesson” on the lesson card or by viewing a lesson from the Lesson Library, then clicking the linked toolkit under Additional Activities.

Step 5: Monitor completion and review reporting data
– Reference the Compass Student Success Guide suggested calendar and schedule internal data reviews with your team to monitor engagement, understand student needs, and track success metrics.
– Actively monitor assignment completion throughout the year to drive engagement. As assignments are completed with fidelity, teachers and students build a common language to support social-emotional well-being and character education.
– How to Monitor Assignment Completion for Admins from the home page, group assignments page, gradebook, or summary report.
– The Summary report provides Administrators with powerful tools to monitor and analyze program data. For targeted program evaluation, Admins can view logins, total assignments and completion rates, and access detailed completion data for each lesson.
– How to access the Summary Report and track usage.
– Review the SEC Assessments Report: The Social Emotional Competency Assessments (SECA) are a powerful way to enhance your social skills program and support students' growth. Admin can evaluate student scores in the 5 competencies, target areas of support, and align interventions with identified needs.
– How to access the SEC Assessment Report and make data-driven decisions.
Step 6: Keep families informed by sharing the Family Resources included in each lesson.
– Support families and students by sharing weekly Family Resources electronically or send home hard copies. All Family Resources include a lesson summary, objectives and vocabulary. Parents and guardians can support their student at home with age-appropriate conversation questions and home activities provided.
– Family Resources can be accessed from each lesson card by clicking on the 3 dot menu or by launching the lesson.
