Release Notes (3/5/2025): Expanded Self-Serve & Visitor Check-in/Check-out Functionality

Self-Serve Enhancements
Expanded Self-Serve Setup Customization:
- Improved Self-Serve Setup Configuration - Admin users will see that all options for all personas on the Self-Serve Setup page can now be enabled or disabled. This improved configuration allows for complete flexibility to set their preferred check-in and check-out options for Students, Staff, Visitors, and Volunteers on the Self-Serve kiosk.
- Staff Driver's License Scanning Option - A new option added to the Self-Serve Setup page that when enabled, allows for Staff and Substitutes to scan their driver’s license to check in and out on the Self-Serve kiosk. When this functionality is enabled, users will also have the ability remove incorrectly matched licenses from a Staff Profile.
Visitor Badge Scanning for Self-Serve Check-out:
Admins will see a new option on the Check-in Badge page to include a Check-out Barcode on all Visitor Badges. When this option is enabled, Visitors will be able to quickly check out by scanning their badge via 2D Scanner at the Self-Serve kiosk.
Visitor Enhancements
Bulk Actions:
- Bulk Returning Visitor Check-ins - All users will be able to check in multiple returning visitors at the same time and print all needed badges from the Staff-Assisted station. Streamlining the check-in process for small or large groups of returning visitors.
- Bulk Returning Visitor Check-outs - All users will be able to filter the Visitor list to quickly display all visitors that are currently checked in. Allowing users to select all visitors that are leaving the building and check them out at the same time.
Schedule Future Visits:
All users will be able to apply a future date to bulk check-ins or individual check-ins from returning visitor profiles. Allowing users to schedule visits for a future date and streamlining the check-in process when they arrive at the building.
Updated Scheduled Visits Page:
All users will see the Visitors - Scheduled Visits page is updated to include a new Staff-Assisted tab. This new tab allows users to view Bulk and Individual Visits that have been scheduled on the Staff-Assisted station and complete the visitor check-ins on the day of the visit.
Admin Settings Enhancements
Activity Log Updates:
Admin users will see new event logs for the below activities:
- Bulk Check-ins
- Bulk Check-outs
- Scheduled Future Visits
PowerSchool Setup Enhancements:
Admin users will see a School Building Setup tab and Writeback Logs tab added to the PowerSchool Setup page. These new tabs allow admins to quickly enable or disable the PowerSchool Writeback functionality for individual buildings and check if Student Check-ins/Check-outs are successfully writing back to PowerSchool.
Check-in Badge Enhancements:
Admin users will see two (2) additional options, Visitor Type and Check-out Barcode, added to the Check-in Badge page. Admins will be able to include the Visitor Type and/or a Check-out Barcode on all printed Visitor Badges. When the Check-out Barcode option is enabled, Visitors will be able to quickly check out by scanning their badge via 2D Scanner at the Self-Serve kiosk.
Resolved Issues
- Resolving an issue that caused Student Early Check-outs to fail when periods (.) were included in the student's or Person checking them out names.
