Emergency Management: Admin User Training Plan
EM District Admin Training Plan
As the EM District Administrator, your role is to customize and maintain the Emergency Management features to achieve safety and security compliance and equip your staff with access to critical emergency response resources.
Complete the three-part comprehensive training to learn how to manage user access, customize each feature in EM and use all of the desktop functions.
Part 1: User Management
Scope of Training: Learn how your Student Information System (SIS) data is brought into EM to enable seamless user management and assign user permissions based on function in your organization.

Back-to-School Checklist
⏹️ Check your rosters Navigate360 will resume syncing with your Student Information System the week of July 28. This is for those integrated through Clever or ClassLink. Starting Monday, August 4, please check that your rosters appear correct. If the information is not correct, please verify that your information is correct with your SIS administrator. Then, please contact Navigate360 Tech Support at tech@navigate360.com.
Roster data can be accessed by clicking the 3-Dot Actions Menu near your name at the bottom left corner of EM, then clicking Manage Sync. This will open the previous “Manage Your Data” page in a new tab; and from here, the navigation will be exactly the same as it has been in previous years.
⏹️ Review all administrators' user profiles in the User Management section of EM and ensure their role is set to Administrator for their respective buildings/sites. Ensure their Rapid Alarm Settings are also set to administrator if they need the ability to end alarms and view admin-level alarm details in EM.

Manually add new users (if not syncing through Clever, ClassLink or ProgressBook) to ensure they can access EM and receive alarm notifications for specific buildings/sites.

Manage alarm types for your district, and create custom alarm types as needed. Reference this knowledge article on creating a new alarm type for assistance.
Ensure all users opt in to SMS, text, and/or email alerts for drills and emergency alarms. Next, check your email filters and ensure the navigate360.com domain is allowed in your district email/spam filters. Reference this knowledge article for assistance on how to opt in to these alert types.

⏹️ Ensure new and returning staff are aware of the updates to the EM web & mobile applications.

🔹 Set up your drills for the new school year
You can use this feature to schedule and track drills on the drills dashboard, and you can set users up to receive reminders.

Use the Assess feature's form creation tool to build them in Emergency Management, where users can complete them efficiently in one location.

🔹 Have you explored the Rapid Alarm feature?
Rapid Alarm is the feature that replaced Respond. Rapid Alarm enables users to manage all aspects of an emergency alarm, or a drill or training alarm. All users can activate a practice (drill or training) alarm directly from Rapid Alarm in the web & mobile application. Administrators can view a dashboard of active & past alarms, and can configure alarm settings all within Rapid Alarm. Any active alarm will now include Roll Call for student & staff accountability; and Reunification as part of the alarm details.
