Navigate360's Emergency Management Solution includes preset alarm types that can be enabled for use by any adopting school district. Preset alarms cannot be edited, however admins can create custom alarm types that can be tailored to meet the unique emergency response protocols of their district. Just like preset alarm types, custom alarm types can be activated from EMS for practice or real emergencies.

To create a custom alarm type:

  1. Navigate to Rapid Alarm
  2. Click Settings near the top right corner
  3. Click + Create new alarm type near the top right corner of the Alarms dashboard (This will direct the user to the Create new alarm type page)

 

Next, fill in the required information in a step-by-step format:

  • Name, icon, sound (A name, icon, and push notification alert sound must be entered/chosen)
  • Countdown (A 5 second countdown can now be applied to custom alarm types)
    • Select yes or no to enable a countdown during alarm activation
  • Contact 911 (This step will adjust depending on if 911Cellular integration exists)
    • When 911Cellular integration does not exist, this step will enable the admin to decide if the alarm activator should be prompted to call 911 after the alarm has been activated
    • When 911Cellular integration does exist, this step will enable the admin to map the alarm type to a 911Cellular incident type, ultimately enabling PSAPs to receive an immediate notification whether the alarm was activated from EMS or a 911Cellular panic alarm/device
  • Flipchart (Flipcharts visible to the entire district can now be linked to custom alarm type to provide pertinent information in a just-in-time format during an active alarm)
  • Roll Call (Admins can choose for student accountability to automatically be activated for staff when the alarm is activated; and can choose to enable staff to account for an entire class in one click)
    • When not enabled on a custom alarm type, admins can always choose to manually activate a Roll Call during an active alarm

In you are interested in adding the 911Cellular integration, please reach out to your Customer Experience Consultant.

 

 

Once all steps are completed, continue to preview & finalize the custom alarm type  


Click Finalize It to create the custom alarm type as an enabled alarm type. (This will enable the alarm type to be activated by any user)


At any point, you can cancel the creation process (This will not save the alarm type)

 

If an admin accidentally navigates away from the create alarm type wizard, they can choose to cancel or save as disabled.

If the alarm is saved as disabled, users will not be able to activate an alarm using that type until an administrator enables the alarm type
