📃Back-to-School Checklist
⏹️ Check your rosters. Navigate360 will resume syncing the week of July 31 with your Student Information System (SIS). This is for those integrated through Clever, ClassLink, or ProgressBook. Starting Friday, August 4, please check that your rosters appear correct. If the information is not correct, please verify the information with your SIS administrator. Should further support be needed, please contact Navigate360 Tech Support at tech@navigate360.com.
Note: We can manually start your sync earlier if needed, just let us know at the email address above.
⏹️ Review admins. Identify new district or building admins and have existing district admins update permissions for new admins.
⏹️ Review users. Add new users (if not syncing through Clever, ClassLink or ProgressBook).
⏹️ Update your modules.
- Safety plans. Ensure you have reviewed your safety plan to validate listed contact information, MOUs, and procedures for the upcoming school year. Use the following links for step-by-step instructions on how to update Classic or Enhanced safety plans.
- Virtual binders and flipcharts. Make sure to include any changes made to safety plans.
-
Review maps and floor plans. For major changes, discuss professional services options with your Customer Experience Consultant.
⏹️ Set up your drills. Set your district drill requirements. Begin to schedule drills for the year and set reminders. Need help? Use the following links to access our Classic or Enhanced setup guides.
⏹️ Practice schoolwide exercise/training. Ensure new staff are aware of the process and flow. Be sure to use Training/Drill mode when practicing.
⏹️ Review first responders. Review your first responders and grant access to new agencies. Review the Adding First Responders guide for assistance.
⏹️ Check your email filters. Ensure the navigate360.com domain is allowed in your district email/spam filters to ensure you receive important communications.
⏹️ Download the new Emergency Management Suite app and encourage staff to do the same This provides access to initiate an alarm, perform staff & student accountability, open communication channels & provide emergency protocols to staff.
Note: The new app provides a different look and feel. Downloading the new app is encouraged but optional. All staff should be using the same app.
📳Access the Android mobile app on Google Play
📳Access the mobile app for Apple products.
⏹️ Enable alerts feature. Ensure users who would like to receive “critical alerts” have this feature enabled in their phone/app settings (ex. EMS alarms). Critical alert notifications must be set up in phone settings (iOS/Android) and not in the app. This enables sound override so that alerts can still be received when devices are muted or in Do Not Disturb mode.
Note: On an Android, critical alerts are called “priority alerts.”
💡Back-to-School Tips & Tricks
The 2023-24 back-to-school season will be here before you know it! Our product experts have created these helpful tips to help you start the new school year off right!
🔹 Set up an emergency management recipient in Drills!
You can use this feature to receive reminders related to drills in the Emergency Management Suite.
🔹 Do you have information you commonly capture on forms in your district, like accident forms or after-action reports?
Use the Assess feature's form creation tool to build them in the Emergency Management Suite, where users can complete them efficiently in one location.
🔹 Have you explored the Reunification feature?
Available on both mobile and web platform versions, Reunification is based on best-practice concepts and assists in tracking students as they are reunited with their parents after an emergency or other disruption. Consider using this feature in the Emergency Management Suite and running a tabletop or small exercise with your team. For additional resources, guidance & parent information on reunification, refer to our Roadmap to Family Renunciation page.
🪶Key Features:
➖ Access real-time accountability information within Respond during an emergency or drill to ensure every life in your building can be accounted for via SIS integration, custody directives are adhered to, and reunification is swift and more efficient.
