Volunteer Management Enhancements
The below enhancements require the Volunteer Management add-on subscription to Visitor Management. Please contact your Account Manager if you would like to learn more about Volunteer Management.
User Roles & Permissions
New Volunteer Coordinator Roles:
Admin users will see two (2) new user roles, District Volunteer Coordinator or Building Volunteer Coordinator, added to the Permissions workflow when inviting users to the platform. These new user roles will have their access focused only on Volunteer Management features such as creating events, managing applications, registering volunteers for events, and viewing volunteer reports. These roles will not have access to the core Visitor Management functionality, including check-in/check-out workflows.
Volunteer Profile Deletion:
District Admins and District Volunteer Coordinators will have the ability to delete Volunteer Profiles for better data management. This new option allows for old or unused Volunteer Profiles to be removed from the Volunteers list.
Volunteer Application Enhancements
Web Notifications for Pending Applications:
All users will be notified when a new volunteer application is submitted via a notification icon displayed on the Side Navigation and the Pending tab on the Volunteers page.
Enhanced Application Customization:
District Admins and District Volunteer Coordinators will have the ability to add custom questions to the Volunteer Application form including:
- Free form, single choice, and multiple choice questions
- Downloadable files for applicants to review
- File upload fields for gathering additional documents from applicants
View Application Responses:
All users will be able to utilize the updated View Application option to view a volunteer's submitted responses.
Volunteer Event & Hours Enhancements
Event Creation Enhancements:
All users will see an updated Event Creation workflow to allow Offsite Locations to be saved for an event and the ability to apply rich text styling to event descriptions.
Bulk Upload Volunteer Event Hours:
All users will see a new option on the Events page to upload volunteer event hours in bulk. This new workflow allows for volunteers that participated in offsite or after-hour events to have their hours accounted for, even if they were not able to check in/out in VM.
Edit Past Volunteer Visits:
All users will be able to edit past volunteer visits from the Visit History tab of their volunteer profile. This new option allows users to correct or update hours served.
Enhanced Event Filtering:
All users will see updated filter options on the Events page including a new Location filter. This new layout allows users to easily view events for offsite locations and other school buildings that they have permissions for.
Volunteer Check-In Enhancements
Driver’s License Scanning on Self-Serve Kiosk:
Admin users will see a new option to scan their driver's license added to the Self-Serve Setup page for the Volunteers persona. This new option allows for Volunteers to scan their Driver's License to check in and out on the Self-Serve Kiosk.
Expanded Activity Logging
Volunteer Management Tracking:
Admin users will see the Activity Log page updated to include key Volunteer Management actions such as Event publishing, Application approvals, Application customization, and more.
Resolved Issues
- Resolving an issue that caused Scheduled Email Reports to be delivered using incorrect time zone settings.
