Self‑Serve Enhancements - Students & Staff
School ID QR Code Scanning for Students & Staff
Admin users will see a new Scan School ID option on the Self‑Serve Setup page for Students and Staff. Admins will be able to choose the scanning method:
- Barcode/RFID
- QR Code
When QR Code scanning is enabled, staff will be able to scan the QR code on their School ID at the Self‑Serve kiosk to quickly check in or out of the building and students will be able to scan the QR code on their School ID at the Self‑Serve kiosk to quickly start the late check-in or early check-out workflow.
Self‑Serve Enhancements - Visitors
Check‑out QR Code on Visitor Badges
A new Check‑Out QR Code option will be available on the Visitor Badge Admin Settings page. When enabled, visitor badges will include a QR code that can be scanned at a Self‑Serve kiosk, allowing visitors to quickly check themselves out.
Configurable Post Check‑Out Messaging
Admins will be able to control whether QR Code and Mobile App messaging is displayed to visitors after check‑out using a new setting on the Instructions After Check‑out tab of the Self‑Serve Setup page.
Volunteer Enhancements*
Application Corrections & Resubmissions
Users will be able to send pending volunteer applications back to applicants for correction and resubmission. When JDP Background Checks are enabled, users will be able to choose whether the updated application should be resubmitted to JDP for screening.
Rejection Notes for Volunteer Applications
When rejecting a volunteer application, users will be able to add a Rejection Note. This note will be visible to other users on the Rejected tab, providing helpful context and improving internal communication.
Building‑Level Filtering for Volunteer Lists
District Volunteer Coordinators and Building Volunteer Coordinators will be able to filter both the Approved Volunteers and Rejected Volunteers lists by building to quickly view volunteers for all buildings or focus on specific locations as needed.
Expanded Activity Log Details
The Activity Log will record more details when pending volunteer applications are:
- Approved
- Rejected
- Sent back to the applicant for updates
Reporting Enhancements
Flexible Name Sorting for Exported Reports
All report exports will include a sorting option, allowing users to choose whether data is sorted by First Name or Last Name for:
- Visitors
- Students
- Staff
- Substitutes
- Volunteers*
User Preference Enhancements
Saved Default Page Layouts
All users will be able to save their preferred page layout (Card View or List View) as the default for the Visitors, Staff, and Volunteers pages.
Issues Being Resolved
- Camera Scanning issues for IDs with multiple last names.
- SSO login issues for users added by the SIS sync.
- PowerSchool Late Check-in/Early Check-out Reasons failing to display under certain circumstances.
