Student Late Check-In Process
Learn the processes for late student check-in via staff-assisted or self-serve options.
Staff Assisted Workflow
Check-in one student:
- Log into Visitor Management
- Navigate to the Students option on the left navigation menu
- In the search text box, enter the student’s name or student ID number.
- Once the student is located, users can select Late Check-in to the right of the student’s name.
- Perform the Late Check-in

Late Check-in Time: The current time will populate, but users can click the time field to adjust the time

Reason: Select a reason for the late check-in

Type: Select whether the late check-in is Excused or Unexcused

Print Tardy Slip (Optional): Check the box for a Tardy slip to print
- Select Confirm to complete the late check-in and print the Tardy slip, if selected

- A notification will appear in the top right corner of the screen to confirm the late check-in was successful.
Check-in two or more students:
- Select Students located in the left-hand column.
- In the search text box, enter a student’s name or student ID number.
- Once you locate the student, select the check box to the left of their name.
- Repeat steps 2 -3 until you have all the students selected.
- Select Bulk Actions located at the top right-hand corner.
- Select Check-in Students.
- Perform the Late Check-in

Type: Select whether the late check-in is Excused or Unexcused

Print Tardy Slip (Optional): Check the box for a Tardy slip to print
- Select Confirm to complete the late check-in and print the Tardy slip, if selected
- Note: All students must have the same Late Check-in Time, Reason and Type selected. A badge will then be printed for all or none of the students, dependent on if the Print Slip is checked or not.

- A green notification will appear in the top right corner of the screen to confirm the late check-ins were successful.
Subsequent Late Check-ins on the Same School Day
If a student needs to check in late more than once during the same school day, a staff member will need to facilitate that process by following the above steps for both an individual or bulk Late Check-in.
Self-Serve Workflow (Grade Levels with Front Office Approval Needed)
Google Translate
Google Translate is available to assist non-English-speaking students or guardians checking a student in late. To use this feature, students or guardians can click Select Language at the bottom of the Self-Serve main page. Once they choose their preferred language, the page will refresh and they can complete the needed steps to check in late to the building.
Search by Student Name or Student Number
- Student or Guardian will select Student on the Self-Serve Landing Page
- Enter Student Name or Student Number
- Select Student and click Confirm and Continue
- Select Check-in
- Select the Reason for checking in late and click Confirm and Check-In
- Student or Guardian will then go to the Front Office to finalize their late check-in
- Front Office Staff will click on the student's name in the banner on the top of page within Visitor Management to confirm the student check-in
- Type: Select whether the late check-in is Excused or Unexcused
- Print Tardy Slip (Optional): Check the box for a tardy slip to print
- Select Confirm Late Check-in to complete the late check-in and print the tardy slip, if selected

Scan the Student ID with a Barcode or RFID with the provided hardware
Note: The below steps are only available if an admin has enabled Self-Serve for students AND selected Barcode/RFID as an option.
- Student or Guardian will scan the student ID with a barcode or RFID
- Select Check-in
- Select the Reason for checking in late and click Confirm and Check-In
- Student or Guardian will then go to the Front Office to finalize their late check-in
- Front Office Staff will click on the student's name in the banner on the top of page within Visitor Management to confirm the student check-in
- Type: Select whether the late check-in is Excused or Unexcused
