Students - Assign Detention
Learn how to Assign a student a detention from within Visitor Management
District Admins, Building Admins and Staff Users can assign a detention to a student from within Visitor Management in two scenarios - if a student exceeded the maximum number of tardies and from the Detentions tab on a Student Profile. To access Assign Detenion workflows, follow the below steps:
- Log into Visitor Management as a District Admin, Building Admin or Staff User
- Navigate to the Students Page by clicking the academic hat icon on the side navigation menu
Assign Detention - Late Check-in Exceeded the Maximum Number of Tardies
- User can search for a student and check them in late
- If the student's tardy exceeds the maximum number of tardies set by an Admin on the Student Tracking page, then the user will see a banner on the top of the page with an Assign Detention button
- User can click the Assign Detention button
- User can fill out the below information and print a detention slip:
- Date
- Multiple dates can be added
- Time
- Duration
- Room #
- Additional Comments (optional)
- Include Signature Line
- Check this option to print a signature line on the detention slip.
- Click Save and Print to print a detention slip
- Date
Note: The Assign Detention functionality for Late Check-ins exceeding the maximum number of tardies can also be triggered if a student checks in late via the Self-Serve Kiosk.
Assign Detention - Student Profile
- Users are able to assign a detention to a student by clicking on the Assign Detention from the Detentions tab on the Student Profile.
- User can fill out the below information and print a detention slip:
- Date
- Multiple dates can be added
- Time
- Duration
- Room #
- Additional Comments (optional)
- Include Signature Line
- Check this option to print a signature line on the detention slip.
- Click Save and Print to print a detention slip
- Date
