911Cellular Portal Configuration: Computer Panic Buttons
Before deploying computer panic buttons, the 911Cellular Admin must configure key portal settings to ensure everything works correctly. While not all settings are required to be enabled, we recommend reviewing each carefully to understand how they impact the use of the Computer Panic Button.
Go to: Settings > Applications > Computer Panic Buttons > Custom Configurations
Review and configure the following settings to meet your needs:
-
Wi-Fi Prompt User: Toggle On
Enables location identification for end users.
🚩If this feature is left disabled, end users will not be able to assist with the crowdsourcing deployment method.
-
Lockscreen Enabled:
Allows panic button activation from a Windows lock screen.
(Mac lock screen activation is not supported.)
-
Video & Audio:
If your dispatchers use the Dispatcher App, this lets them access audio and video streaming from the activated machine.
Set the default video streaming duration (in seconds).
-
Countdown Enabled:
Choose whether to enable a countdown before the panic button activates. If enabled, set the countdown duration in the "Countdown Timer" field.
-
Computer Panic Activation Hotkeys:
The default shortcut is Alt + Backspace; however, you can modify it to fit your organization's needs. Few organizations wish to change this in scenarios where Alt + Backspace is used to activate a different function on the machine. This setting is changed globally.
