End User Guide: Wearable Panic Buttons
Below is a sample End User Guide that can be customized and shared out with designated users who will receive a Wearable Panic Button.
How Do Panic Buttons Work:
Wearable panic buttons are an essential safety tool, designed to function exclusively on the designated Wi-Fi network. There may be some areas on campus such as [list locations - example: soccer field, maintenance shed] where buttons will not have access to Wi-Fi signal to activate an alarm.

When the following button sequences are clicked, the corresponding alarm type will be activated:
- Single Click: enter alarm type
- Double Click: enter alarm type
- Press & Hold: enter alarm type
When activated, the button will:
- Customize this list based on your Connect360 configuration, some examples include:
- Vibrate 5 times and turn the indicator light green.
- Activate an Emergency Alarm in Emergency Management that notifies all staff via EM Mobile App
- Notify the Emergency Response Teams (ERTs)
- Send an E911 call (if enabled in the system)
- Computer Screen Takeover
- PA System Announcement
Device Usage & Policy
✅ Keep the Device On Campus
- These devices are configured for a single network and will not function off-campus.
- If a button is clicked off-campus or out of Wi-Fi range, it will not activate an alarm or call 911.
✅ Always Have Your Device With You
- Wear or carry your device at all times while on campus.
- Tip: wear the device on your lanyard around your neck, or clip to your collar.
✅ Perform a Daily Check-In
- Press the Battery Button on your device every morning to confirm it is active. Within 10 seconds, a light will appear next to the red alarm button.
- ✅ If the LED blinks green three times, the device is working.
- ❌ If there is no green light, contact the Panic Button Device Manager for troubleshooting
✅ Charge Monthly
- Devices should be charged every 1–2 months to maintain connectivity and ensure readiness.
- How do you know that the badge has a full charge? Press the small Status/Battery button — 3 white lights means 70–100% charged, 2 lights means 40–70%, 1 light means 10–40%, and flashing means below 10%.
