Create Whole Group Behavior Intervention Lessons
Learn how to use Compass Behavior Intervention lessons for your whole group to promote positive behavior and improve classroom management.
These Tier I whole group Behavior Intervention lessons can be created by an admin user or instructor to address the immediate needs of a class to be delivered whole class (i.e. project the lesson on the screen and go through with the class).
Step 1: Click “Lesson Library” from the left-side menu.
Step 2: Use keyword or filter by grade level or theme to search the Lesson Library.
Step 3: Preview lesson by clicking on the View icon under Actions on the far right.
Step 4: On the Lesson Preview Options page, the title of the lesson, description, grade band, time, and theme are displayed. Toggle Whole Group Assignment on (should be green).
Step 5: The Assignment Title will self-populate with the name of the admin user or instructor, lesson name, and date. It can be edited, if needed.
Under For Class, type to search for class this lesson will be delivered to.
Instructors will only be able to search for classes that are rostered to them.
Step 6: Click “Start Assignment”.
Important
Behavior Intervention (BI) Whole Group assignments will not populate on student dashboards. The specific admin user/instructor will need to present the information to the class. All students in the class will be marked complete in the gradebook.
