Overview
In Compass, the Validated toggle is a quick visual indicator showing whether a staff or student user has logged into Compass at least once.
- The toggle cannot be manually changed by administrators.
- It is automatically updated by the system based on login activity.
What Does the Validated Toggle Do?
- ON (green): The user has successfully logged into Compass at least once.
- OFF (gray): The user has never logged into Compass.
This provides administrators with a simple way to confirm whether staff or students have accessed Compass.

Key Points to Remember
Validated ≠ Active/Inactive
- Validated = login history only.
- Active/Inactive = whether the user can currently access Compass and appear in dashboards.

System Controlled
- The Validated toggle updates automatically; no manual changes are required or possible.
Use Cases
- Onboarding – During Back-to-School, quickly see which users have logged in for the first time.
- Troubleshooting – If someone reports login issues, check whether they’ve ever successfully logged in.
- Engagement Tracking – Monitor overall adoption of Compass across staff and students.
✅ The Validated toggle is a simple but powerful tool for administrators to track user access without additional manual effort.
