In Compass Curriculum, you have the ability to curate content that aligns with the goals and needs of your organization. Discover how to control elective lessons available to students, and adjust content visibility in the Compass Lesson Library, so it only appears for specific users.
You must be an Admin User to adjust the Hidden and Elective toggles in the Lesson Library.
All lessons available to use appear in the Lesson Library for Instructors and Admin Users unless hidden by an Admin User. Elective lessons are available to students on the 'Discover' tab of the student homepage. Admin Users can control which content is visible through the Hidden/Elective toggles found in the Lesson Library.
⚠️Lessons flagged as ‘hidden' in the lesson library will still appear in the Preset Curriculum schedule unless removed.
If your Compass library offers a preset curriculum schedule, reference the articles linked below to ensure hidden lessons are also removed from the preset.
Compass Student - Preset Curriculum
Step 1: On the left- side of the Admin Dashboard, select “Lesson Library."

Step 2: Search by keyword or filter by curriculum, grades, or theme to locate the correct lesson.

Step 3: Read the lesson title and description to locate the lesson you want to hide/remove.

Step 4: Find the Elective or Hidden column on the right- side of your screen. Click the toggle to change the status of the lesson.
- A green Elective toggle indicates the lesson is visible by students on the Discover tab.

A green Hidden toggle indicates the lesson is hidden and removed from the Lesson Library for Instructors. For District Admin, the lesson will also be hidden from School Admin when toggle is green.

Finding elective or hidden lessons
Sort the lesson list by using the arrow next to each column header.
