How to get notified when Wall-Mounted Panic Buttons have low battery

How to Configure User Notifications for Panic Button Low Battery Alerts

911Cellular Portal user notifications can be configured to receive low battery and lack of check-in notifications for all wearable and wall-mounted panic buttons. 

To configure user settings:

  1. In the 911Cellular Portal, access Portal Users from Settings → General → Portal Users
  2. + Add Portal User
  3. Enter required information 
    1. Role Types: 
      Admin:  Access to all Zones  
      Zone Admin:  Limits users to that building or zone they are in (Similar to Building Admin in EMS)
      Dispatcher: Access to Emergency Calls
      BadgeR Config: Access for the person(s) responsible for maintaining and managing the wearable panic buttons. Access to only wearable panic button management items. 
  4. Check box “Notify on low battery or lack of checkin for wireless panic buttons” (Image 1)
  5. Select Add

Once added, Portal Users can be enabled or disabled by Admin Users using the Portal Access toggle.

Charging a Wall-Mounted Panic Button
When a wall-mounted unit's battery is low, designated portal users with “notify on low battery or lack of check-in for wireless panic buttons” will receive an email notification indicating the need for charging.

Steps to Charge the Wall-Mounted Unit:
 

  1. Unscrew the six retaining screws to detach the device from the wall.
  2. Locate the USB-C charging port on the white unit (Image 1) 
  3. Plug the USB-C cable into the charging port and connect to power source. Allow the unit to charge for approximately 3 hours. (Image 2)
  4. Check the battery status via the 911Cellular portal or directly on the device, ensuring the battery is fully charged.
    1. Battery Status Indicators on Unit:
           Three LEDs lit: 70–100% charge.
           Two LEDs lit: 40–70% charge.
           One LED lit: 10–40% charge.
           Flashing LED: Below 10%, charge immediately​.
  5. Secure the device back onto the wall using the four retaining screws.

Wall-Mounted Panic Button Maintenance Best Practices

  1. Verify Connectivity Regularly: Review connectivity in the 911Cellular Portal → Manage Devices → Wireless Panic Buttons
  2. Perform Routine Checks: Perform button connectivity test at least once a semester to verify buttons are functioning as expected.
    1. Don't forget to notify your Emergency Response Team (ERT) members of alarm testing! 
    2. ERTs can be toggled off for testing purposes. Settings → Applications → Shared Configuration → Emergency Response Teams
