Camera Setup
Learn how to set up your default camera for use within Visitor Management.
Visitor Management allows users to select the default camera that will be used when checking in a visitor or taking a photo on the Staff-Assisted station. Please follow the below steps to locate and set up the default camera for Visitor Management:
- Plug the external web camera into the computer's USB port
- Log into Visitor Management
- Navigate to the Device Settings page by clicking the gear icon on the side navigation menu
- Select the Camera Setup tab
Camera Setup
- Users will see a Default Camera section, with a list of cameras that are connected to the computer and recognized by the web browser being used
- Users can select the desired camera from the list and click Save Changes to apply the default camera setting
- Users can click the Start Camera option on the page to see a live feed from the selected camera and verify it's connection to Visitor Management
- If the desired camera is not listed or the camera feed does not start, please see the troubleshooting steps below for the browser being used to access Visitor Management
Troubleshooting

Google Chrome:
- While on the Camera Setup page, click the camera icon in the Chrome address bar in the top right corner
- Click on Manage. A new Settings - Camera tab will open in Google Chrome
- In the Settings - Camera tab, click the correct camera from the drop-down menu
- Return to the Visitor Management tab in Chrome and refresh the page
- Click on Device Settings→ Camera Setup → Start Camera

Microsoft Edge:
- Click the lock icon on the left side of the URL
- A pop-up should appear asking for permission to use your camera
- Select Allow from the drop-down menu next to Camera
- Return to the Visitor Management tab in Chrome and refresh the page
- Click on Device Settings→ Camera Setup → Start Camera

Firefox:
- Click the lock icon on the left side of the URL
- A pop-up should appear - Under Permissions - enable the camera for use
- Check the box labeled, Remember this decision and click Allow
- Return to the Visitor Management tab in Chrome and refresh the page
- Click on Device Settings→ Camera Setup → Start Camera

Safari:
- Go to Safari Preferences → Websites → Camera → confirm that "https://navigate360vm.com" is set to Allow
- Return to the Visitor Management tab in Chrome and refresh the page
- Click on Device Settings→ Camera Setup → Start Camera

Other Possible Issues:
- Ensure that your external web camera is not being accessed by another application (Zoom, Windows Camera App, etc.) as web cameras typically cannot be accessed from two different applications at the same time, even if one is minimized in the background
- If Ensure your external computer not registering that the external camera is connected? Try plugging your web camera into another USB port
