Camera Scanning - Troubleshooting
Learn how to troubleshoot Camera scanning issues in Visitor Management.
Please follow the below troubleshooting steps for common Camera Scanning issues in Visitor Management:
- Error Messages when attempting to access the Camera:
This could be occurring when attempting to scan a visitor's ID or when attempting to take a picture.
- Ensure the camera is being recognized correctly by your computer.
- If your computer not recognizing that camera as connected, please try unplugging it and plugging it back in or plugging it into another USB port.
- Ensure that Camera Access has been enabled for Visitor Management in your Browser Settings.
- Camera feed failing to load or failing to process after scanning an ID
This issue is typically caused by corrupted files in your browser's cache that Visitor Management requires for Camera Scanning, or if these files are outdated and failed to be updated automatically by your browser.
- To resolve this issue, please clear your browser cache - see below for browser specific instructions on clearing the browser cache.
Google Chrome
- Open Chrome.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner of the browser window.
- Select Delete browsing data.
- Select All time from the Time range drop-down menu.
- Select Cached images and files.
- Click Delete data.
Microsoft Edge
- Open Edge.
- Click the three dots in the top right corner or the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- Click Privacy, search, and services.
- Under Clear browsing data, click Choose what to clear.
- Select All time from the Time range drop-down menu.
- Select Cached images and files.
- Click Clear now.
Safari - MacOS
- Open Safari.
- Click the Safari menu in the top left of the menu bar and select Settings.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Check the box next to Show features for web developers and then close the Settings window.
- Click the Develop menu in the top menu bar.
- Select Empty Caches.
Safari - iOS/iPad
- Open Settings.
- Go to Apps and then Safari.
- Select Advanced and then Website Data.
- Tap Remove All Website Data.
Mozilla Firefox
- Open Firefox.
- Click the three horizontal lines in the top right corner or the browser window.
- Select Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security.
- Under Cookies and Site Data, click Clear Data.
- Select Everything from the “When:” drop-down menu.
- Select Temporary cached files and pages.
- Click Clear.
