  • Scan barcodes on the back of a U.S. based driver’s license.
  • Scan barcodes on school-issued IDs
  • Mainly used in Self-Serve workflow

Visitors - Scan the barcode on the back of the driver’s license - if new visitor, a photo also needs to be captured

Staff - Scan a school ID with a barcode to check in and out for the day

Substitutes - Scan a school ID with a barcode to check in and out for the day within the timeline of their scheduled visit

Students - Scan a school ID with a barcode for Late Check-in or Early Check-Out

Volunteers - Not applicable

  • Reads an RFID tag
  • Reads an RFID card
  • Only used in Self-Serve workflow

Visitors - Not applicable

Staff - Scan a school ID that is an RFID tag or card to check in and out for the day

Substitutes - Scan a school ID that is an RFID tag or card to check in and out for the day within the timeline of their scheduled visit

  • Captures the front of a government-issued ID
  • Captures QR code from VMS mobile app
  • Used in both Staff-Assisted and Self-Serve workflow

New & Existing Visitors - Capture data from front of government-issued ID, including photo from ID

Existing Visitors - Captures QR code created for a visit scheduled on the VMS mobile app

Staff - Scans QR code, created on the VMS mobile app, to check in and out for the day

Substitutes - Scans QR code, created on the VMS mobile app, to check in and out for the day within the timeline of their scheduled visit

Students - Not applicable

Volunteers - Scans QR code created for a visit scheduled on the VMS Volunteer Portal
