PORTS =========================================
Ports 22, 25, 80, 8080, 587, 443 over both HTTP and HTTPS require access through your firewall. Port 22 uses SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol).
EMAIL ==========================================
School Check IN is designed to send out email alerts. Email uses SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol). Emails are a one way (out bound only) process. Emails are sent to only recipients that you specify. Emails use ports 25 or 587. School Check IN by default uses port 587 and this port must be open. If doing a test email alert fails, then a hardware firewall or router or software firewall or Internet security software, or virus scanning software may be blocking access to port 587.
