Update Guide- School Check In
Gain a step-by-step guide to the process of the School Check In process.
Overview
This guide will serve as instruction for updating the School Check IN software. This guide will focus on updating to the current Windows version of the program (v8.2b22) and will be the same procedure for both the Basic and Enterprise versions of the program. These instructions should also be applicable to future builds, be sure to check on: www.schoolcheckin.com/printer-instructions.html to see the most current build. Note: If you are updating to v8.2 from v6.2 or prior, you MUST update your Dymo software to v8.7 if you have a LabelWriter; see Installing and Updating the Dymo Labelwriter Printer Software for instruction on updating the Dymo software or call our Support Division at 813-960-4433.
Requirements
A Local Administrator Account may be required to update School Check IN. The School Check IN updater is obtained through our website; internet connection or a USB drive will be required to get the installer onto the check in station.

Updating the School Check IN Software:
Step 1: Ensure that the School Check IN application has been closed, if open, go to the Admin menu then click on the Exit button to close the application.
Step 2: Go to: www.schoolcheckin.com/printer-instructions.html and click on the link to download updater. Updater will be named “SCI6-EE-U.exe”. Open and run the updater when the download has finished.
Step 3: After the update is completed, please DELETE the file “SCI6-EE-U.exe”. Leaving this file on the computer has potential for great conflict.
Step 3: Once you’ve opened the updater, you will be brought to a welcome screen. Click “Next” to proceed.
Step 4: Next will be a startup option configuration page, check your desired option and click “Next” to proceed.
Step 5: The updater is now ready to run, click “Next” to initialize the update.
Step 6: The update will now run. You will be prompted to close School Check IN if you have not already done so. Once the update starts, it will run through some progress bars as it updates your records. If you are updating from version 6.2 or prior, the updater will undergo a conversion process which may take up to 20 minutes.
Step 7: Upon completion, the updater will prompt you to click “Finish” to exit the installer. School Check IN will now be updated.
